My name is Cal M. Desmond-Pearson, I’m from Ireland, though at the moment  I live in Newcastle-upon-Tyne in England. I am busy researching my family history. My mother was from Cobh, Co. Cork, Ireland and my father was from Newcastle-upon-Tyne, England (though of Irish ancestry).
I am a member of the Northumberland and Durham Family History Society and The Association of Graveyard Rabbits.

This blog will serve as a shared resource for those who are interested in gravestone photography, genealogy and family history – especially from the Northumbria, Tyne & Wear and Durham area, but also from Eire (Cobh, Co.Cork, Limerick and Kilkenny . Most of the photographs will be of my ancestors or of cemeteries  that I am photographing, transcribing and researching. [Member of The Association of Graveyard Rabbits]

If there are any nice people out there with photos of cemeteries or graveyards in the Northumbria, Tyne & Wear or Durham area (or form Eire) that they would permit me to use on this site please do not hesitate to get in touch. I will be adding photos of my own shortly – linked to a Flickr site. All pictures will be credited.
